Sunset

A beautiful Sunset to close my busy day and to symbolise the Chinese Chongyang Festival 重阳节 (Chóngyáng jié), aka the Double Ninth Day 重九节 (Chóngjiǔ jié) – the ninth day of the ninth lunar month.

In Chinese culture, the number 9 (九 jiǔ) is the highest single number that represents the Yang energy (as opposed to Yin). So double nines in the combination of the month and the date in the lunar calendar are doubled by the Yang energy (阳 yáng), which drops subsequently.

It is not only a time appreciating the temporary nature of beauty, but also one of celebration, particularly of the elderly, and a chance for family outings.
