Tales from the ice

Yesterday we had a couple of Americans staying over, Jocelyn and her dad Mike. Our daughter met Jocelyn at Camp America, then again in Florida.
Mike was part of the space shuttle programme for over 30 years then went to work in Antarctica for NASA monitoring weather satellites. When Mike left the ice Jocelyn came over to NZ to meet him and the two of them set off on a cycle ride round the South Island.

Needless to say the conversation was very different from your usual Saturday nights, its not very often someone who sits in launch control comes for dinner.
We dropped them back at the airport and this C130 Antarctic plane was getting loaded, so it was the perfect subject for todays blip.
