sunrise rendez vous

I was up a little earlier than usual today to help hubby get ready for an early morning breakfast date with his friend. So Laney and I got out for our morning walk while the sky was still pink. Here you can see the light on the golden leaves, and a little rosy patch on the backside of the mule deer.
Lately we have had a lot of wild life on the walk. We've seen a bear (at a safe distance), a herd of mule does that advanced so close that I picked up a stick to scare them off (Laney was surprisingly silent at my side), and two hawks hunting together. So today I thought to bring my camera, and was relieved to see just two docile mule does.
