Linley Hill

A late afternoon walk in South Shropshire up through the fabulous Linley Beeches.

This mile long line of trees were planted by soldiers in the time of Napoleon (around 1740 according to some that have been dated)for the local Bishop's Castle MP Robert More.

The hundreds of years have taken there toll and many have fallen but more were planted about 30 years ago to eventually fill the gaps and those that do remain are gorgeous especially in late Autumn light like this.
