Back to 2003

Bit of a nothing day at least during daylight hours. One of the risks at this time of year during stable weather conditions. The high fog had the upper hand and the sun barely made a show until late afternoon. I spent most of the day indoors trying to clear up in preparation for finally getting down to the annual (2017) tax return nightmare.

However, the evening did bring some fun and joy. Friend Kathi from Memmingen came over and within minutes I felt 15 years younger. Our age difference is an awful lot more but she managed to tackle the dreadful growth of straggly weeds on my head and make me human again. She then tackled Angie while I prepared a very straightforward Hokkaido-Red kuri soup. Kathi is a soup fan and seemed to enjoy it.

Thanks, Kathi for making me fit for public appearances again. Might just go out tomorrow and test it. Normally she only manages 10 years age reduction but this time matters were truly out of hand.

October 2003 we were very busy and enchanted by the arrival of our  8-week-old Border Collie puppy Flash. What a role he was to play in our lives until he finally left us two months ago aged 15 years and 2 days. We still miss him. Kathi was one of his favourite visitors as indeed is she for Luna who made herself comfortable on a retractable armchair and watched Angie's hair being re-designed.
