Mortgaged

You know, one of the tragedies of real life is that there is no background music.

I’m working on the second book in the BDD series today. I make some progress and then it’s time to go into town to pick up the keys for the Kinghorn flat. Proud owners of top floor, sea view flat in need of renovation. And of a sixteen year mortgage.

Mike comes round for tea, bringing a bottle of Jura Journey. Mince and tatties, beer, and whisky. Hours later, oatcakes and a pan of popcorn on the stove. He finally totters off home (up the hill, stop at the top for a smoke, and down to Bannalaw) at the back of two.
