In the 80s Sadam Hussein built a dam in our city and in so doing submerged a village. Today was the first time in 8 years that we've seen the tops of the roofs sticking out of the lake. A combination of not much rain, general lack of water and rich people building houses around the lake which draw water out, has left the water level really low.
