Undying Rose

Here is Rose, who died almost 400 years back, but who lives on in this lovely shiny brass in Shottisham church.

No idea how old she was or anything about her, but she inspired the delightful rose pictures on each side of the inscription and four lines of hopeful poetry, so my guess is that she was as nice as her name.



(My husband rather uncharitably points out that -if you look at line 2 - you can see that butchers' apostrophes clearly precede standard spelling, but he is learning to be a teacher so I suppose he WOULD.)
