Inside a mud-brick house

This old 4-storey house in Al Hamra is built from mud bricks, as are nearly all the old houses we saw in Oman. Many of them are dilapidated but some, like this, are still intact; this one and its neighbour are a kind of living museum. Really impressive to climb to the rooftop and look out at all the other old mud houses.
There's not much interest in preserving these old houses although we did see a few that are being restored and a couple that have been given new life as hotels.
