Slightly less than ideal ...

This, slightly abstract shot, shows some of the "investigation" holes in my dining room wall, trying to find the source of a central heating leak that had - overnight to yesterday morning - saturated a reasonable amount of the dining room and lounge floor.

Strangely, the only obvious symptoms appeared at floor level, and an ever so slightly damp patch in the corner ( slightly lower than this shot was taken ) - that was normally covered by a radiator cover. The actual source of the leak however, was at the junction in the floor in the room above where the pipe was directed down this wall. All the water flowed down the inside of the wall and pooled at the bottom, so it took well over an hour ( of a professionals time ) to figure it out and fix.

I must say that I am very grateful to Mark from British Gas ( and Steve who came slightly later with the heavy tools required to lift floorboards etc. ) for figuring it out and fixing it.

Heating is back on, and the drying out process has begun.

May take some time ...
