...Life in New York can be nasty, brutish and short for the predominantly white, gay, middle-class men revelling in their victimhood in this six and a half hour drama of gloom - unremitting until the last ten minutes, when anyone still standing lives happily ever after. It's a must-see play for masochists and miserabilists. Everyone else should steer clear.
