A day for ducks.

I am the kind of person who prefers cold weather to hot weather. Even so I will admit that was an icy arctic blast on the promenade this morning.
But as the day developed the sun won the battle with the clouds and this afternoon we took the ten minute car ride to RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve.

There was quite a lot to see.
The main shot is a male Shoveller. A handsome fellow easily recognised by the shape of his bill which of course gives him his name.

But I also like the extra which is I believe an immature Pintail. Not yet got the distinctive pin but has some very attractive plumage.
