When did it snow?

In case I forget when it first snowed in 2018.
I felt very happy that we actually got winter tyres onto this car before the snow came, especially as the radio was full of accidents and warnings not to try driving on summer tyres. I checked our local paper and there was only one accident in our whole county so I guess it was the southerners who were having problems.
It was so nice to wake up and see a white world, but it won't last. Warmer weather and torrential rain is coming mid-week.
On our walk today we first heard, and then saw, these geese. They seem to have decided the appearance of snow signals time for them to head south.
A few geese back from the leader there seems to be some confusion as 4 birds try to fill the same space. Maybe there's some beginners in there, making the trip for the first time and still learning the ropes. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes.
