Flat Out

Mr P was racing (in what we used to call the East Riding of Yorkshire ) about 35 miles from our village.
What a difference in landscape, so flat compared to to the hills and dales we are used to .
Obviously this helped to him get to his fastest time since the onset of his illness five years ago and he was third in his category.
I had a walk on this lane while it was going on : as you can see it was wet and bright, could have done with my sunglasses.
As Mr P finished we were treated to a short sharp hailstorm which was freezing!
We then nipped to the Designer Outlet at York , what a mistake that was, it was absolutely jam packed.
Managed to get the very item one of my Grandsons wants as part of his C present, l refuse to use that word yet :)
Although it was a bit of an ordeal l’m relieved l won’t have to go again for a long time.
Then we drove over to the Calder Valley to have dinner with our son and family as it’s his birthday tomorrow.
Sat here now drinking spiced rhubarb gin and martini, currently on my second and feeling very cosy.
