Ponds

Slightly stiff from yesterday's exertions, I went for a long walk in the Estate to stretch my legs. Not that I needed the least excuse, since it was as beautiful an autumn morning as you could imagine. Not just the weather, but the colours of the trees were at their peak. I first went to the Hurley Pond, but the sun wasn't far enough round to light the water and surrounding beech trees as I'd hoped. Then, after passing the Low Pond, I decided that it was a day to sneak a visit to the High Pond. Going the back way, you don't pass any notices saying "Only enter with the Ranger", and I was rewarded with beautiful views of the water, surrounding trees and the hills. See extras
