Oystermen

There is always a couple of men gathering oysters from the rocks at the end of Playa La Ropa no matter what day I paddle by. They launch from Playa La Madera, visible in the background, and swim over to the big rock that anchors La Ropa to the north. There they dive down to pry the oysters from the rocks below. The majority of their catch ends up for sale at the south end of Playa La Ropa later that day, though we have been warned by our Mexican friends not to eat them as our bay is not a good place for shellfish of any kind. No one has told these guys, however, so they just keep working away.
