Chilli Con Carne

Perfect for a wintery evening in front of the fire ...

throw in a glass of merlot and you have the perfect supper dish!


500g steak mince or Quorn /Soy Mince
2 onions
1 red pepper
2 cans chopped tomatoes
1 can tomato puree
1 fresh red chilli or euivalent in Lazy Chilli (2 tsps)
3 cloves of garlic
2 cans of red Kidney beans preferably in chilli sauce.
A large chunk of dark chocolate

Sautee mince, onion, chili and garlic until meat is brown.
Add peppers and fry til soft.
Stir in tomato paste.
Add canned tomatoes
add chilli beans and chocolate and simmer until tender.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with basmati rice.
