Another day in paradise...

well, at least another overland walk to Dana's house, only we walked a couple of blocks past her house to a place where we could sit outside with Ozzie and drink coffee out of a real cup. We passed this old tractor parked under a tree which is rapidly losing its leaves. It's supposed to rain by Wednesday but we were treated to a beautiful, golden crisp morning looking down from our sunny perch upon the fingers of fog slowly retreating from The Valley of the Moon and Rincon Valley.

A trip to the recycle center to get rid of a small portion of the boxes and packing paper, and on to the red bullseye store for trash cans, little hooks, potholders and assorted other essentials. A nice gentleman standing behind us in line eyed our overloaded cart and said, "moving?". When else does anyone buy a whole cart full of that kind of stuff? He was also right when he said, "It's surprisingly expensive, isn't it?" I assume he meant the items in the cart, but the same thing could be said of the whole process.

There is a strong smell of mold emanating from the washing machine. I'm told that this is common with a front loading machine if you don't leave the door open, but it seems to be impossible to eradicate at this point. This house is so open that the smell is impossible to ignore. I've tried various mold removal products to no avail. I fear it has grown into the gasket around the door and there's nothing for it but to "get a man..."

We did solve the mystery of OilMan's lost keys when I did a load of laundry and found them in the washing machine. Dana's comment, "When you only have two pairs of pants, how much trouble can it be to look through the pockets of both pairs?" Since they still work, I withhold comment.
