Rosso Pomodoro Pizzeria

The nearby pizzeria where we go to buy pizzas to take home was (and may be still is) financially backed by the slightly further away restaurant in the opposite direction (Pane E Vino) we went to before. Pizza and an episode from Firefly before we came north for the weekend was unanimously voted the best end to the working week.

This mural adorns the right wall, behind the largest tables, as one faces the counter (and kitchen beyond). The other wall is decorated in a rather unusual way. There are four large black and white photos, three being Italian restaurant scenes. The fourth is a photo of Sophia Loren.

Below the photos are a half dozen newspaper front pages, from 1938 to 1940. They appear to be presenting news of the early months of the Second World War.

The pizzas are pretty consistently good quality.
