Poppies

The children at school made poppies for a special Remembrance Day display. We focussed on animals in combat, particularly the millions of horses, donkeys, dogs, pigeons and many others who were used during WW1. You can wear a purple poppy in Remembrance of animals who served alongside troops and were lost in times of war so we made purple and red tissue paper poppies, drew pictures of the animals and talked about whether we think it’s acceptable to use animals in wars. It’s been an interesting day!
