Lynmouth Bay

Back blip #1

I had newly arrived in Lynmouth for the opening lecture of a two day residential Landscape photography workshop. The drive from home had taken about 6 hours with a couple of short breaks along the way, so good to arrive.

The first lecture was by Dr Lilian Hobbs - an astro-photographer. She is an excellent speaker, very practical and made everything seem worth trying.
We were due to have a practical evening session with her too, but the weather closed in and the rain pounded down all night. She talked to us instead.
Our accommodation was very basic - school trip level - and cold. We were not happy. We joked about it being Halloween.

There were eight of us in the group who had travelled from various UK destinations. The heat was switched on, we made up our beds (!), had an excellent meal and Lilian talked to us about shooting star trails.
This residential trip by the RPS is experimental and it definitely has potential.

I took the view of Lynmouth bay in the afternoon knowing I would not have any outside connectivity when we got to our accommodation. There was none - no phone signal and no WiFi.
So back blipping.
