Above And Beyond...

R.I.P. VICHAI

I was in Godalming, Surrey, last week and watched the Leicester City FC v West Ham football match on Sky TV.  The aftermatch commentary showed his helicopter in the centre circle and the pundits joked 'how the other half live'. Shortly afterwards the 'copter took off and crashed just outside the stadium killing multi-billionaire chairman vichai srivaddhanaprabha and four others.

The Leicester players and community were very close to Vichai due to his friendliness, time and involvement with them; the players voted to play their first match after the tradegy against Cardiff City. It's been the main item on the news over most of the world this past week.

Both sets of supporters had very large flags made and these were passed over the crowd. My blipfoto shows The Leicester supporters tribute to their team and chairman just before the minute silence.

Straight after the match the Leicester players and club flew from Cardiff Airport to Thailand to attend his funeral. It lasts a week and Vichai has been granted the status of Thai royalty.

Cardiff lost the match 0-1. Some strange refereeing decisions going against Cardiff again.
