A fine time

What was originally billed as a weekend away in Liverpool with LD and her (now ex) partner became compressed into just one afternoon, for various reasons: dog sitter let us down, so Poppydog came too (luckily, she really doesn't mind being left to snooze in the car); the match date was changed from Sat late pm to Sunday pm (after we had booked our non-refundable hotel - arrggh); and LD and the lovely chap who is now (and always has been) her best friend were looking at a possible flat for him yesterday ...

We all had a really enjoyable time, particularly because it was an excellent match (The England vv NZ rugby league international) which had scoring opportunities (made and lost); level pegging at half time; a couple of, shall we say, 'incidents' as the testosterone on both sides was committed and a little high; and England finally got a couple of good breaks and won. Couldn't be better. Nothing like a good shout at a live match played to an incredible level. And I'm not a sports mad person!

And also, for me, really heartwarming to see the ex-couple doing what they've always done - get on so well and supporting each other.

'Old Faithful' is my Hull FC outfit - their special song (but don't ask me to remember all the words!).
