Then came the calvary

We went to Camden today (third time in 2 weeks for me!) to see the reenactment of the Battle of Camden which pitted the British Loyalists under General Cornwallis against the American Patriots led by General Gates.    The Patriots suffered great losses here..as many as 2000 men were killed or taken prisoner.   The majority of this army was sick with dysentery but the battle took place in spite of it.     I don't know for sure if horses were involved in the actual battle but today they did have horses for our enjoyment with soldiers brandishing swords.    

I love history and these people are so enthusiastic about the roles they play.  It was a beautiful day to be out.
