What struck my fancy

The old Customs House

the water is called the Purfleet, behind me is the Great Ouse which flows off to the North Sea. The majestic former customs house is now the tourist information office.

The thumbnail gives prominence to the statue of Captain George Vancouver who charted the west coast of America during his expedition of 1791 - 95, native of King's Lynn - once England's third largest port. The Captain's statue is shown as an extra.

In the winter the sun is low in the sky and often imparts a reddish glow to the scene which I rather like.
