River of Flowers

Monday: Gardening ...

... even though I'd planned to have a lazy day!
Emptied 2 tubs of potatoes, tops had died back so didn't want to leave them to rot - had enough for our dinner this evening!
Ginkgo Biloba leaves (extreme left of photos) have turned golden, they'll soon begin to fall :-((
Seedlings of Mustard "Green in the Snow" which were sown about a week ago have germinated as has Crambe maritima, mustard will be thinned out and we'll eat the young seedlings as salad.
Extra photo is my mini greenhouse which has old net curtains draped over, this is where the seeds have germinated even though it's been very cold! In the background (of seedlings above) is the greenhouse and some kale seedlings which are doing ok so far!
Prepared onions for pickling using this recipe as a guide https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1826697/pickled-onions - I'll add pickling spices when I prepare the cider vinegar tomorrow.
