...remembered:

my great-grandma's story...

When she was young she always loved the stories she heard about glamourous Berlin. Her dream was to visit the capital, to stroll over the Ku'damm and having coffee eclairs at Cafè Kranzler.
With around 16 (in 1917) (ishe had the opportunity to visit for 2-3 weeks some relatives in Berlin. She was over the moon when she had th ok to go.

She came back after only a few days, very disappointed, as Berlin was huge, loud, dirty, crowded and, well, a capital. Other than the Hessian hillside village town she grew up.
She still used to love coffee eclairs until her last days.

As I loved coffee eclairs since I was a kid too, it was a joy hearing that story over and over again.

Anyhow: kids birthday and very much fun in an Irish pub. Fab time!
