My Baby Red Oak

It is a different type of oak compared to the Scarlet Oak growing so well on the west side of the property.
This is one of two Red Oaks given to me at the annual Arbor Day celebration in the village square two or three years ago. The NY State Conservation service gives out free trees that are native to our area. The oaks were rare and hard to come by so I am glad to have been given the two with a lot of instructions from the conservationist. It was like he was giving away his own babies.
