The Peak
After completing a very busy schedule the previous day we slowed the pace down a little today.
Mrs CBL and I had a little wander around the Central area of Hong Kong Island (see extras) before meeting up with Sandy (SweetArt) to go up to The Peak.
After a hairaising ride on the bus to the top we decided to walk up to an even higher viewpoint. It was a very steep road and we were pleased that there were distractions along the way that let us have short breaks before commencing the climb.
Our first break was at Mount Austin Park where we saw two couples having their pre-wedding photos being taken in the attractive gardens (see extras). We took the decision to continue our adventure and the next stop came at Victoria Peak Gardens where even more couples were being photographed!
Finally walking along the Governor’s Path we reached the top. Our reward, apart from the views, was an ice cream which hit the spot! Very few visitors go beyond the viewing point at The Peak Tower so we were fair chuffed with ourselves.
Wisely we decided that we would descend from The Peak by taking the gravity defying Peak Tram which is Asia’s oldest funicular railway, the journey lasts eight minutes.
It was a day when the three of us really hit the heights in Hong Kong! The panoramic view I’ve posted is of Victoria Harbour.
