There's no such thing as bad weather ...

... just different types of lighting.

The forecast for today was pretty inclement, so we headed for the sanctuary of Manesty woods. Walking through the woods towards the lake was a riot of autumn colours (still!).

We did get some flurries of heavy rain by the Lake, which Gave David C plenty of material for his forethcoming CC competition on "simplicity" (see extra) - whilst we were all getting excited over the soft rainy views and minimalistic photos, there was another photographer standing nearby us moaning about the weather (if only he'd opened his eyes!).

My main blip was also taken in rain - on the way back to the car - as the rain gave richer colours to the trees and more recession between the main tree and the soft background.

The best news though - I've found my missing photos from yesterday, I'd inadvertently copied them onto the wrong external drive - and had unplugged it to look at the guests pics. As soon as I plugged it back in - joy!!!

Can't believe it's a year since we shot the aurora over Bassenthwaite Lake (check "one year ago")
