Spume and waves

A Doric A-Z: S revisited, once more

Doric, the dialect spoken in the North-East of Scotland is rich in words and phrases associated with the land and the sea.

SEA-GUST: Salt spume driven by wind on to the land.

This was the view this morning overlooking the village of Collieston. The high winds have  whipped up large amounts of spume which are being driven ashore by the southerly wind, over buildings and up steep roads!

Extra. Meanwhile, the entrance to the harbour was looking a tad hazardous!
