You Know What The Shepherds Say......

You know what the shepherds say about a red sky in the morning; well they weren’t so daft and with not a sheep in sight, I did catch the reflection of the amazing dawn sky in the Quartermile windows before it became a cold, windy, dank day, the sort of day that dulls the will to live.

It was good then that my step daughter popped in to say cheerio before going on business to Canada and the USA for a week. She brought with her, gifts, not gold, frankincense and myrrh but trendy yellow leather gloves, a lovely pre birthday cake, and some bubbly. It is not often that we drink so early in the day, but hey, it felt better than an elevenses with coffee.

With the afternoon hanging heavily on my hands, I reorganised the kitchen cupboards and came upon a tin of pumpkin purée with a sell by date long gone. Being somewhat careless with sell by dates, I have put in the oven 2 tins of what Google describes as ‘moist pumpkin bread’. We shall see. The uncooked mixture tasted excellent, as anything with this amount of sugar would. Each slice of the bread will have hundreds of calories.
