My topsy-turvy life

Backwards step

After having his breathing tube out yesterday Louisa & I stayed quite late to keep an eye on him and make sure he was OK.
Late enough to see him start struggling.
He was finding breathing harder and harder work. I think it just exhausted him. His oxygen sats started dropping and even putting him in an oxygen mask didn't help. So much so that they decided to re-intubate him at about 2 o'clock in the morning. It was a horrible night and waiting while they did that was torture but once they'd managed it (and re x-rayed to make sure it was in the right place) he was much more stable again.

It just felt like such a backwards step after he'd been doing so well.
