Flower Friday - Plastic Poppies

As part of local commemorations for the centennial of the end of the First World War the local WI groups made these plastic poppies. There are 1687 poppies signifying the number of men who left Jersey and died during the conflict. 237 of them were French and are represented by blue poppies.
As well as remembering those who died It's hoped that the poppies will help to raise awareness of plastics in the environment and the need for all to be more thoughtful in this regard.
