More New Snow

This morning was bright and clear. I feared a frost when the temperature went close to zero, but everything was so wet from the rain it didn’t freeze. Late frosts are not unknown here, which is why we don’t plant out our tomatoes and zucchini until later in the month.

Another peaceful day with the highway through the mountains closed by slips and washouts caused by the excessive rain. Sometimes several minutes went by without a vehicle passing. This is so different from the usual constant stream of traffic, particularly at the weekend.
