Fawkham Church

This little country church near my Mum's village seems to be in the middle of nowhere, with just a minor road passing by.  I often pass it while taking a short cut between the M25 and her flat and always meant to stop.  Today presented the ideal opportunity, and even better, the surrounding trees are still hanging on to their Autumn treasures.

The church, St Mary's Fawkham and Hartley, is 12th century, and is built on the site of a saxon church.  It is clearly still very actively used with tombs in the church dating from 1600, and graves up to the present day in the adjacent cemetery.
