If you can't beat them...

Poppies at Keswick.

We had hoped to go to Keswick to see the poppies tomorrow but as Clickychick is busy we decided on a visit today.   The display is impressive, the poppies are knitted.

According to press reports there were 13,000 when the service of dedication took place near the end of October.   Looking at the pictures on the ITV website there could by now be nearly twice that number.  The marker near the silhouette is outside the sea of poppies in the October shots.

The poppies knitted (and I think some crocheted) were made by the community, friends and relations with poppies having been sent from all over the world.  It was pleasing to see the steady stream of people coming and quietly appreciation the display and presumably thinking of those who lost their lives.
