Shropshire

Went to Ellesmere in North Shropshire to meet up with stepson and family. Because it was the catalyst for one of the greatest canal networks in the country, the town gave its name to Ellesmere Port. Ellesmere has a mere, many woodland walks and sculpture trails, and, of course, the canal.

We enjoyed the walks and had lunch at the Boat House by the side of the mere.  We covered quite a distance and Sid, who is three next month, did well to stay on his feet for most of the way.

It isn’t often that you find a fully working piano at the edge of a car park, but Sid and Jessica certainly enjoyed playing it. We have no idea how it got there.
