Young Elephant Seal

Elephant Seals are another species that do not breed here but there are often a handful of individuals on the beaches, usually young ones like this individual who was sleeping with it's head resting in the pool.

I've been amazed at their huge eyes and heads and their calm demeanour. While the Fur Seals are generally aggressive this Ellie let me wander up and sit really close without showing the least bit of interest.
