My favourite fruit

I remember as a child eating bananas without thinking where they had come from. It had only been a few years previously when they had been introduced and they were always in the fruit bowl. Bananas and custard was a standard dessert when I was growing up. It wasn’t until I travelled later in life that I saw bananas of different sizes and realised that the UK had only really introduced one main type. I had grilled small bananas in the Philippines which were on the roadside, quiet sweet but so different.
