Azaleas behind our house, at dusk on a cloudy day. Our friend Alice left this morning, driven to New York with a friend. She'll return to England later in the week. Her trip was to interview applicants for the Marshall Scholarships, which are awarded to Americans for graduate study in Britain; we're delighted that it gave her a chance to visit us for the weekend.
