Hope

A couple of years ago we reduced the growing number of these white Japanese Bog irises that are growing in our garden pond and just slung them into an old disused sheep trough which is in the shade under a large fig tree. They get no attention whatsoever and reward us with these pure and glorious blooms. About the same time, I planted a 12 in stick labelled Black Mulberry and it has leapt up to 3 metres in that time, last year bearing immature fruit till about December when , much to my disappointment, they all fell off! This Spring we mulched the area out to the drip line with pea straw and have subsequently added grass clippings in the hope that the fruit will reach maturity and our breakfast smoothies!
Fingers crossed : ))
