Monastiri Gonia at Kolymbari

For both of us not at all the first time we visited this monastiri at Kolymbari what's played a significant role in Crete's history in the past and present... close to this monastiri is an ecclestial academy where big congragations of the Orthodox Church are held and history is written still coz of their conclusions... at the moment the clergies from Crete oppose the initiative of the Minister of Education & Religious Affairs to curtail the church in its influence on educational matters.... a matter what's been on the agenda since decades and still some priests in power oppose the liberation of education.... when they're replaced by the younger generation, perhaps the new bill may pass one day! 

We both were happily surprised by the beautiful new museum of the monastery here! Worth a visit for all who come to Crete! 

... actually I'm totally surprised time and again to see that the monasteries here in Greece have been renewed and restaured in recent years so nicely... lots of money spent here (I saw this last  year on mainland Greece too and this year here again)... the Greek Orthodox Church must own lots of money like the Catholic Church does
