Health and Safety

If you park your car at the doctor's,
you'll be lucky to find a space,
but once you've turned your engine off,
it's mostly a risk-free place.

One certain danger comes from bins -
it's the only way to explain
why doctors choose to lock them up
with a hefty metal chain.

The bins appear to accept it:
they're rubbish - they know their place!
(Though Green seems far from happy -
have you seen the look on her face?)

But it's best to be in the safe side,
I've heard what bins might do
if given the freedom of wander -
those rumours might be true!

So, if ever you park at the doctor's,
one thing you must understand:
whatever you do don't feed the bins
or you might just lose a hand.

Today we had our flu jabs. The waiting room was full of elderly people awaiting their turn. It was fascinating watching the names pop up on the screen as we were called in - all such generational giveaways: a Susan married to a Peter (about our sort of age), a Mary and John (old enough to be our parents), and so on.
