We went for a walk at Maungatautari, which is run by Maungatautari Ecological Island. The top of Maungatautari is in its natural state and has a preditor fence around it to keep out possums, stoats, rats, goats and other animals which prey on the native birds and plants. The trust are re introducing many native birds which had been lost due to preditors.
