the Doctor will see you shortly. Who?

9.30am I ring NHS 111; “I’d like some advice please”

111: “You need to go to the Urgent Care Centre at the hospital.  Within the hour”.

10.15am We arrive at the hospital.

2.15pm We see the doctor on duty; “You need to go to A&E straight away.”

2.30pm We arrive at A&E

4.00pm We see the triage nurse; “You need to see the doctor.”

4.30pm We see the doctor; “You need a CT scan and blood tests.”

5.00pm; CT Scan; “You need to see the doctor to discuss the results”

6.30pm; Blood tests. “You need to wait for the results”

8.00pm; Doctor; “The results are fine. You can go home”.

Phew.  So we do.

And don’t call me Shortly.

ps.  This photo was taken in A&E at about 3.00pm.  A couple of hours later and it's packed -  there are no seats spare.  People end up in corridors, spare rooms - anywhere that the hospital can find.  Anniemay says "and it's not even winter yet".  The NHS needs a TARDIS.  Or two.
