Bait digger

Tutorial in Canterbury this morning and then up to the north Kent coast to grab some photos and enjoy the light. Much as the sun was super it was dreadfully cold so I didn't hang around too long. The tide was out so there were a few bait diggers out.  Beyond him you can see the river Swale and, on the far bank, the exotic Isle de Sheppey. If you go large you'll see a string of caravans . To the right and coming down to the river is a wonderful nature reserve, both sides of the river are marshy and these salt marshes on the island flood with the tide - on this side there are high sea-walls to protect the land. If you check out the map you'll see that there is a road next to the shore and, beyond that, marshland.
