Blackwater Birds

I've had a lovely day today. I took Ollie dog with me to Doe's of Ulting and bought a beautifully comfortable pair of Aigle wellies. We then went to Heybridge Basin to try them out.

The sun shone, it wasn't cold and Ollie was able to explore off the lead for most of the time. A huge flock of golden plovers sat firmly in the mud below the statue of Britnoth. We waited ages in the hope that they would take to the air. No luck. A small flock of avocets did fly though. I love to see these elegant birds.

My extra is the setting sun shining through the windows of a shed by the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation.
