Pier Pressure!

This is all that remains of the old railway bridge crossing the River Forth near the village of Throsk. This bridge closed way back in 1968 and carried the track from Larbert to Alloa. It was some 488 meters long with a steam powered central swing section to allow river navigation. Why could this not have been retained as cycle-track or formed part of a long-distance walking trail!
We were up and off pretty sharp this morning and managed to get a goodly bit of the Christmas shopping all sorted before lunch. Then it was away down to see Ali & Euan for a little while and off on the Blip Hunt. After getting home we have tidied up, washed one rather grubby spaniel then parcelled up those presents. And we wonder why we flake out in front of the "box" in the evening!
