Out in force

This is the upper farm in Lusangazi where we are planting about three acres of Maize, ground nuts and soya in a rotation process. There is a rush to get the maize in and the others will follow.
We will then inter-crop with sunn hemp, pumpkin, peas, beans and later still velvet beans and tephrosia.
Spaced at about 10m by 10m we will sow Masangu, Sespania and Acacia which will be long term in the field and produce sufficient nutrients to grow crops year after year without artificial fertilizer.
This is a model farm and so we hope to influence other farmers to do the same.
I envisage a long hard road, because Malawians expect instant results and are slow to change. Our hope is the women!
Have a look at the results later!!
